A very original and ancient musical instrument that comes from the Inca times. The Chajcha was used in rituals and Inca ceremonies. Handmade using dry alpacas and llamas hooves. The hooves are sewn and joined to several threads and a colorful cloth strip. This instrument emits a very particular sound when is shaken by the hand and can be played along with different musical instruments. This ancient Peruvian musical instrument was used to produce sounds and music by the pre-Hispanic and colonial cultures of Peru. They reflect the diversity and creativity of the Peruvian people, as well as their religious and ceremonial practices. Nowadays Peruvian Dancers place this instrument on their legs and arms and is also a ritual instrument used by Shamans and Healers to eliminate bad spirits.
