The strain relief clamp helps prevent cord damage. The plug has a prong (known as a conductor) for each wire, 3 wires gives you a plug with 3 prongs. Hardware is included for the strain relief clamps to make connecting the cord simple. Wire gauge is 10/3 of SRDT FLAT wire. Make sure you double check the size of wire required for your appliance whether it be 3 or 4 conductor(prongs on the plug), we have it.
